The Hessle Model Railway Group began life in 1990 and brought together nine model makers from Hessle and the surrounding area. The Group found a home at the nearby school but over the years the school was modernised and the Group found itself homeless for a while until Hessle Town Council offered the Group rooms in the Town Hall. The Group,now has seventeen members,and rents three rooms which hold an exhibition layout,an N gauge layout under construction and an OO gauge layout, also under construction.

Railway Group closes membership for the moment.

The Hessle Model Railway Group regrets that it has closed its membership for the moment (Feb 2009) due to the lack of space available. The Group meets every Wednesday evening at Hessle Town Hall (side entrance) between 7pm and 10pm and welcomes interested visitors who may wish to pop in and have a chat and a cup of tea with us.
The Group's Hon Secretary,Alan Smith said "We have completed one exhibition layout and are designing and building another two.One layout will be in OO gauge and be based on structures in Bridlington and the other,in N gauge, will be a freelance 'preserved' railway.
