COMING SOON:

An evening with CHRISTINE COLLISTER
Celebrated singer CHRISTINE COLLISTER is to perform THE PROCESSED PEA music venue in The Light Dragoon Etton near Beverley
on TUESDAY 7 JULY at 8.30pm.
Christine Collister’s professional recording career began in the mid 1980s but she first came to national attention singing the 1987 theme for the BBC Television series ‘The Life and Loves Of A She Devil’. Following a fruitful association with The Richard Thompson Band, Christine enjoyed a period of critical and commercial success in a seven-year partnership with Clive Gregson. She also toured and recorded with the female super group Daphne’s Flight. Her career now spans an incredible 26 years in which she has released 17 albums that combine her own compositions alongside interpretations of songs as diverse as Smoky Robinson, Nick Drake, Paul Simon and U2. Throughout, she has mesmerized and astounded with her unique blend of soul, blues, pop, jazz, country and folk, and today she remains as powerful, subtle and effortless as ever.
Christine has become a familiar name on the UK ‘live’ scene and at all major festivals from Glastonbury to Winnipeg to Cambridge. With a gravity defying voice, impressive performances and great personal charm she is a phenomenal live act.
Processed Pea Organiser Martin Peirson added “I recall Gregson and Collister playing The Processed Pea in their heyday, and we always welcome back Christine with open arms—her voice is amazing, and she is so unassuming with it!”

For this tour she is joined by multi-instrumentalist ROB CROSS to expand her live sound, and initial reaction to their shows has been very encouraging. Christine explained “ The tour has been going really well—I am really looking forward to returning to The Processed Pea—especially having Rob alongside me.”
“Christine Collister can sing the birds down off the trees and send them back with a tiny flick of her vocal chords.” Mojo

Tickets (£9) are available in advance from Beverley Tourist Information & Costcutter Cherry Burton . Telephone reservation /info tel: 01430 810669.
