MINERVA MARK No. 12TI
![]() |
Minerva Mark was formed in about 1820 and the first member was Thomas Thompson who was a Solicitor and lived in Welton.
He died in April, 1874 at the age of 83.
Minerva Mark has always been a popular Lodge in the area and the oldest, despite claims to the contrary.
It is also claimed that Michael Charles Peck who was 26 at the time was first Secretary yet his name does not appear on the register of members until 1861, it was in 1862 he became Secretary.
Yet Bro. Thompson became a member in 1820, it appears the world moved in mysterious ways in those days.
