Slipper Bridge Angling Club (formally BP Freshwater Angling Section) after many years of leasing our pond from East Yorkshire CC, in2002 we purchased the Slipper Bridge Pond in Gilberdyke.on behalf of the members.
The Club is run by committee holding 6 meetings each year two of which all members are welcome to attend e.g. our Annual General Meeting in May and our General Meeting held in November.
We provide a number of events throughout the year which act as a focal point for our members to come together and get involved with the Club.
These include:
Fishing Matches; Summer Carp series, Summer Silver Fish series, grand final, Junior Matches and a winter series of match on Thursday.
We also hold monthly working parties when all able bodied members are encouraged to help us keep the pond in a clean, safe and tidy state for the enjoyment of all our members.
Becoming a Member of our Club
We are a members club and our only reliable source of income is raised from the sale of our annual membership passbook The Club is limited to 400 paying members which generally sell-out of each year because of the popularity of the pond.
We do operate a waiting list for people wishing to join as new members, should you wish to join our waiting list you must gain the sponsorship of a member of the committee or an existing member who will vouch for you. The waiting list will be vetted by the committee and those receiving approval will be contacted informing them of their successful membership application, when membership fee will be required on release of their passbook.
For existing member membership runs from 1st of January until the 31st December with renewals available from the 1st of November each year.
Those new members with their names on the waiting list will be contacted after the 1st of February when new membership allocation is considered.
Enquires should be directed to our membership secretary Tony Searby, but any member of the committee are willing to help should you prefer.
