Welcome to the beehive page of the STA Tallship Adventures Support Group north of the Humber.
We are a group of enthusiasts who seek to tell others about the work of the STA in the Humber area and of the superb opportunities for young people (16-24), and the young at heart (normally up to 69), to experience the thrill of sailing on the STA's grand new brigs - Stavros S Niarchos and Prince William.
Experience the adventure of a lifetime on a Tall Ship. We provide learning by adventure on our famous Brigs the new 'Prince William' and the 'Stavros S Niarchos'.
Few other environments can match a tall ship for providing a real sense of achievement, while at the same time giving everyone the opportunity of tremendous fun and excitement.
All you need is to be between 16 and 24, (although there are some opportunites for those over 24), and eager to accept a real life challenge, for that's what you'll be facing.
Voyages are organised on board the famous Prince William and Stavros S Niarchos, the 195ft. 2 masted square riggers which sail in Northern European waters, the Canaries and the Azores.
Up to 1,000 miles are sailed during each voyage, visting two or three ports.
The STA Tall Ships Experience is recognised by the Department of Education and Employment as a successful experimental educational programme and provides a training grant.
