East Yorkshire Woodturners started as a club in 1997 and has now grown to a membership of 65 turners from around the Hull area. The aims of the club are to develop interest and expertise in the art and craft of woodturning (and related subjects) and to encourage the development of training and education facilities for Turning.
We meet regularly at Skidby village hall. On the third Tuesday of every month we have an evening meeting there, normally with a guest demonstrator from outside the area.
The club runs it's own competitions on various turning topics, and many of the members also compete (and win) in National competitions.
We also arrange frequent trips to tool manufacturers and timber suppliers outside the immediate area, and to National Exhibitions.
